Frequently Asked Questions

A safe paragliding tandem flight requires some organization and preparation. The weather must be good, the equipment must be prepared and maintained, the clothing and other equipment must be adapted to the conditions.

To ensure that your tandem flight is a complete success and the adventure an unforgettable experience, we have compiled many answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ) below.

By selecting a category, you can group the FAQs by topic.

You can fly practically at any time of the day or year. In the morning the air is calmer and there are no turbulences disturbing the flight. In the afternoon - especially in summer - it can become a bit more thermally active, but this often allows us to ascend. If this becomes too uncomfortable for a passenger, one can easily leave this upwind and steer in the opposite direction to the landing site. Even in winter you can fly super tandem. The air here is usually very calm.

We enjoy every flight and give our best to every one. Due to our offers we can offer exciting flights with different wind and weather conditions as well as seasons.

A certain level of sporting fitness is of course an advantage, but not absolutely necessary. You still have to be able to walk. Often we have to walk 5-15 minutes to the actual starting place.

Diseases such as high blood pressure, circulatory disorders, heart complaints, etc. must be reported when ordering.

The minimum weight is 25 kg, the maximum weight 110 kg. Please let us know if you want to enrol your child for a flight so that we can prepare the appropriate equipment.

We fly all year round (even in winter), but only in conditions that allow safe flight.

The sun does not have to shine necessarily and also with cloudy sky one flies. The wind must not be too strong and must come from the right direction. Our tandem pilots know when to fly and when not. However, weather conditions can lead to changes in dates or flight locations and, if necessary, to cancellations at short notice.

There are currently no age restrictions to fly as a passenger. In the case of minors, a declaration of consent (in writing) from both parents is required.

Yes. The altitude when flying is perceived quite differently than when you look down into the abyss from a high tower, for example. When paragliding, you are "held" from above.

We are happy to arrange flights for several people. Please let us know if you want to start at the same time. The bigger the group, the earlier we need your registration. We can take off with up to 5 gliders at the same time, depending on the location and weather conditions.

Our tandem pilots have a lot of experience in both solo and tandem flying. We fly very often and under different flight conditions. In addition, we all come from our flight area and know the conditions of the Bernese Oberland.

Safety is our top priority, we do not compromise and therefore sometimes make unpopular decisions, i.e. we also cancel flights when safety is in question.

As soon as we have received your order, we will contact you personally by e-mail or phone. You can pay the tandem flight in cash at the start of the flight, by direct bank transfer (please bring payment confirmation) or by payment slip to our account.

If you want to give the flight away as a gift voucher, please transfer the invoice amount to our account. We will send you the voucher by mail or by post.

If we do not cancel the flight until 20:00 the evening before due to unfavourable flight weather, the flight will be carried out as agreed. In case of a short-term cancellation or postponement of an appointment (e.g. due to bad flying weather) we will contact you again by SMS, phone or e-mail.

The meeting points of the different airports are mentioned with the respective flights and illustrated there with a map. The meeting points are usually located in the immediate vicinity of the later landing site. The pilot may also inform you of an alternative meeting point in advance.

In most cases we reach the starting point with a cable car and a few steps. Individual starting places can be reached by bus or car.

Your tandem pilot will give you a detailed briefing before the start and do a test run. It is very important when starting that you do not sit down as a passenger, but run along until the pilot says that you can now take a seat in the harness.

This is often a central question. You can't say that in general. The flight times are between 15 min and 45 min, depending on the thermal, wind and condition of the passenger. The pure flight time, however, is not the only decisive factor for the experience value.

Many passengers get rather bad in strong thermals and with long flight times. In our experience, the optimal flight time for the first flight is about 15 minutes. For more experienced passengers or those who want a longer flight, we offer various options to book an appropriate flight.

During the landing you stand up in the harness and walk a few steps during the touch down. The pilot will draw your attention to this before or during the flight.

In case of bad weather or too strong wind, the tandem flight will be cancelled and an alternative date will be arranged. Safety is our top priority. We will contact you via email, SMS or phone the day before at the latest by 20:00 if the flight does not take place.

If you don't hear from us, the flight will go as planned.

Your family, friends or acquaintances are best waiting at the landing site of the respective flight location. From the landing site, you can usually follow the entire flight and meet the passenger after landing. The entire flight takes about 1 to 1.5 hours (depending on the flight booked, see there).

Your tandem pilot can take pictures with a GoPro wide-angle camera if desired. You don't have to bring an extra camera. We also accept no liability if your camera is lost or damaged during the flight.

A tandem glider flies approx. 36 to 40 km/h fast and can be made slower or faster by pulling on the steering lines. Therefore a sufficiently warm clothing is necessary.

Clothes adapted to the season. When flying you are constantly exposed to a wind speed of approx. 40km/h (chillfactor!).

Sturdy ankle-high shoes (see footwear) and warm clothing (jacket and long trousers in summer, ski trousers or warm trousers and jacket in winter), sunglasses (because of the wind) and possibly gloves are indispensable.
The helmet is provided by our pilots.

Passengers wearing inappropriate clothing - especially shoes - may be rejected by the pilot and the flight will be cancelled at full cost to the passenger (see also our General Terms and Conditions). This is because we do not want to accept any unnecessary injuries to passengers.

We strongly recommend hiking or mountaineering boots to prevent unwanted twisting when running, especially during take-off or landing. This is an important concern on our part in order to avoid unnecessary injuries.

If a passenger wears unsuitable shoes, the pilot decides on the spot whether the flight is to be carried out or cancelled. This is at full cost to the passenger (according to the GTC).

We have no room in the paraglider backpack for backpacks, walking sticks, etc. But we can take a jacket, a mobile phone and a wallet with us without any problems. The other utensils you bring with you can be deposited in our cars or at the valley stations.

For the Hike & Fly flights the pilot discusses with you in advance which equipment should be taken along.

Two years from date of issue. Issued vouchers are transferable to other service providers (see also GTC).

Vouchers are valid for 2 years and can be used within this period without having already arranged a specific flight date. The date can be arranged spontaneously.
